Conjunation — last updated 8 July 2026
Conjunation is a language-learning app for iOS. This policy explains what information the app handles. The short version: your data stays on your device. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information, and the app has no accounts.
Everything you do in the app — study progress, favourites, custom verbs and flashcard decks, settings, and purchase state — is stored locally on your device in the app's own database. It is never uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes this data. iOS device backups (iCloud/iTunes) may include it under Apple's own backup terms.
The app has no sign-up, login, or user accounts. It contains no advertising, no third-party analytics SDKs, and does not track you across apps or websites.
On first launch (and when language content is updated) the app downloads its language database from our content delivery network (Cloudflare R2). These are ordinary anonymous file downloads: like any web request they expose your IP address to the network provider for the duration of the transfer, but we do not log, store, or link this to you, and no personal data is sent.
Language packs and subscriptions are sold through Apple's App Store in-app-purchase system. Payment is handled entirely by Apple; we never see your payment details. A record of what you have unlocked is stored locally on your device, and Apple's standard restore-purchases mechanism is used to restore it. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.
If a future version of the app enables crash reporting (Sentry), it would send anonymous technical crash data (device model, OS version, stack trace) to help us fix bugs. This data would not be linked to your identity and would not be used for tracking. The current version sends no crash data.
The app contains optional links to iTalki (a third-party tutoring service), which open in your browser. These may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission if you sign up. Once you leave the app, iTalki's own privacy policy applies. No information about you is shared with iTalki by the app.
Pronunciation audio uses the speech synthesis built into iOS. Nothing is recorded and no audio leaves your device.
The app does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children, because it collects no personal information at all.
If the app's data practices ever change (for example, enabling crash reporting), this policy will be updated here before the change ships, with the date above revised.
